Being on a purely scientific quest, of course, I stayed the night. After all, he is quite alone in his big old caldera, away from the “prying eyes” of seismographs and tiltmeters. And he just so happens to have begun his last eruptive period within the last five years. Is he erupting right now?  GVP doesn’t really know yet. I admire that kind of discretion (perhaps because I sorely lack it myself).
