Once upon a time, this volcano caldera had a pretty green lake, but the last eruption made short work of it. While earlier eruptions tended to be effusive, and in some cases strombolian activity was observed, the last few eruptions have been straight-up phreatic, likely due to eruption-caused changes to the groundwater plumbing.

It’s been fairly quiet for the last few years, but a couple of times people living close by have reported incandescence in the main caldera.
