Turns out this area is kind of like a volcano commune. I walked south and met this hippie pyroclastic cone. She may look like a tree-hugger now, but back somewhere between 1100 and 500 BCE she was quite the volcano-activist. Her VEI 2 eruption helped make this place what it is today. Back behind her on the left is the big-guy from my first postcard and the little dude from my second postcard. These volcanic features are one big happy family…and they have learned that all you need is lava… lots and lots of lava.
