This is kind of like that time I virtually-visited Stromboli.  One does not simply “drop in” on a volcano that erupts almost all the time…not without asbestos underwear, lava boots and…because it’s rude to show up empty-handed as well as unannounced, a nice cake.

I feel a kinship with this volcano too…not just because it never seems to sleep, but because it is believed by some that this volcano has traveled many miles too.

This week we’re playing by the usual rules with usual scoring. Also the offer is always open to any of my regular commenters or friends who might like to occasionally contribute content.

Meanwhile, be watching for a brief review from me concerning Smithsonian’s book Volcanoes Of The World. I just picked up a copy a few days ago and will likely have some nice things to say about it.
