This photo of this little Strombolian type fissure eruption is so pretty….if you, like me, are really into fissure eruptions.

I am back at the newest vent today to have a look at the loads of virtual-photos scattered all over the virtual-ground. This area of the volcano is east of the main crater and kind of situated in the spot where this mountain merges into another neighboring mountain. In spite of its activity, local authorities must have considered this a nice safe vantage point for folks who are not (or at least not yet) volcanologists to get a look at real honest-to-goodness right-then right-there volcanicity and get some incredible up-close-with-lava pictures.
